HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
Jessica

Blane had it all kicked out of gear in this picture! He has started really loving to sleep on his stomach. We don't let him at night, but during the day we let him take naps like this some. On this day he had just had a bad tummy ache and he wore hisself out. I am so busy now with school that I feel like I only get to see him a few hours a day. I look forward to seeing his cute face in the mornings and evenings. I can't wait until this semester is over so I can spend more time with him. It is hard to believe he will be 6 months old at Christmas time! We're still working on the rolling over. He is rockin but not rollin yet. :)
He probably thinks I am crazy because of some of the faces I do to get him to laugh. I just love to see that smile and hear his laugh. But I bet he is thinking, "My mom is a nut!" ha ha...We still have him on the AR formula. It is not a miracle worker but it is better than the other we had him on. I think he is going to spit up no matter what we do. I hope it slows down when we start feeding him baby food. I sure don't want to see that stuff regurgitated! yuck.
We haven't been able to go to Brilliant much lately so Blane hasn't seen much of his Nanas, Pa, and Pop. Hopefully next weekend we can go up and visit. Nana C. is coming to visit Friday and Saturday so I can hopefully get some schoolwork done while she entertains Blane. Yay! Is it graduation day yet???

Blane got his first cold last Friday. :( Poor baby started coughing really bad and was congested. I decided to carry him to the doctor that morning. Word to the wise: Unless your baby is really sick, don't bother taking him to the doctor. For one thing you have to go into the Sick Child waiting room. You NEVER want to go into the sick child waiting room. It is a breeding ground for germs. I can't believe I didn't walk out of there with pnemonia. Yuck. I didn't touch anything and held Blane as close to me as I could. I hope I never have to go into that room again. Second, the doctor looked in his ears and listened to his chest then said he didn't have bronchitis or an ear infection so there was nothing she could do! They don't recommend anything for a baby under 6 months old with a cold. Thanks a lot. Lesson learned: don't go unless something is really wrong. That said.....Blane was the happiest sick baby I've ever seen. He never stopped laughing or smiling all weekend unless he was coughing.

Bo and I had planned on going to Lake Tuscaloosa for a few nights and were undecided about what to do when Blane got sick. Bo's Uncle Wade also had quadruple bypass surgery that Friday so the week was just a bust. Luckily Wade did great with his surgery and Blane seemed to be feeling some better Friday night so we decided to go. Blane spent the weekend with his Nana and Pa C. and spent Sunday with his Nana and Pop B. He was spoiled rotten I'm sure.

He is doing better with the Enfamil AR formula we switched him to. He's not spitting up near as much and his stomach issues have settled. I hate that stuff though. It will not dissolve you have shake it up forever. The other kind was much easier but if it benefits him I will do it. Blane is still doing great with daycare. His teacher commented today on how big he is getting and how he is laughing and smiling a lot now. That's my boy!! :)

Go Tigers!!!! Blane's Nana B. got him this cute Brilliant Tigers jersey to wear to the games. He wore it Friday night at the football game against Hub. Too bad they lost, but Blane was a trooper the whole time. It was hot and loud but he didn't fuss much at all and let some friends and family hold him. We were there to cheer Bo's cousin Austin on. Blane even has Austin's number on his jersey!

Look at that face! This picture just cracks me up. We were leaving to go to Blane's open house at his daycare last week when I snapped this picture. It came a MONSOON while we were out though so we ended up not getting to go. :( I talked to his teacher, Heather, and she said we didn't miss much. I think I am going to take an infant/children CPR class next week. I am terrified that I will need to know that one day and I won't know how. His daycare is offering it two afternoons on the 8th and 9th so I am going to sign up.

Haha...this is what we call Blane's Popeye look. I thought he looked so cute in this outfit, just like a little man! We switched his formula this week to Enfamil AR hoping that it would help with his spit up. Well it has some, but I think it is causing stomach issues with him. We're going to give it a few more days and see how he does but I am thinking about switching back. I hate to see my little man's belly hurting.

Blane goes for his first overnight trip this weekend without Mom and Dad! I am a little nervous about leaving him, but he will be with his Nana C. and Pa so I know he will be taken care of and spoiled rotten. I am going to miss him so much. On the bright side I have class through Wednesday and then a 5 day weekend! Wooohooo!!!

Good news! We went to the Pediatric Cardiologist on the 20th and he said that Blane's heart looked perfect! No defects of any kind. He did hear a faint murmur but he said it was nothing to worry about. What a relief! I hope we never have to go through anything like that again, it was so nervewracking! He did really good at the doctor and didn't fuss much at all even when hooked up to all these machines. What a good baby.

Blane is smiling and laughing all the time now. He has even started to recognize me and smile in the mornings when I get him out of his crib. It is so sweet. He LOVES to be talked to and will just study your face and smile and laugh the whole time. In the picture above Bo was talking and playing with him making him smile.

I started back to school on August 19, and Blane's first day of daycare was this Monday, the 24th. He is doing great! He went for a little while every day this week and he has been happy every time I picked him up which is a big relief. It is hard to focus in my classes though because I am thinking about him every minute. This is a picture of him and his teacher, Heather, above. She is really sweet with him and I know he is in good hands when I leave him.

Blane has been spitting up a lot here lately. His teacher even asked me if he has acid reflux. I told his doctor at his 2 month visit that he was spitting up a lot, but since his weight gain was good she wasn't concerned. I am going to bring it up again at his 4 month visit in October and see what she says. I know he is still gaining weight though because at his Ped. Cardiologist visit he weighed over 12 1/2 pounds. Oh the worries of a parent!

Now that I have started school I won't have much time to post, but I will try to update as often as I can. This semester is going to be very challenging. It will be a ton of work and being a mom on top of all of that is going to require most of my time. If I can make it to Christmas I will have it made! Student teaching then graduation after Christmas. Can't wait!

Here are a few of Blane's 2 month pictures we had taken at Portrait Innovations here in Tuscaloosa. I was happy with how they turned out! He is a very photogenic baby and I am not biased at all! We tried everything to get him to smile but he wouldn't! He fell asleep in the car on the way over and we woke him up getting his first outfit on. Luckily he never cried but he definitely wasn't in the smiling mood.
Blane had a great time visiting his grandparents this weekend. Bo and I got a little break and went fishing on Friday which was fun. Blane has an appointment on Thursday, August 20 to see the cardiologist about his heart murmur. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that it turns out to be nothing.
He is getting so close to rolling over! He just rocks back and forth constantly when he is on his belly. It won't be long. He is really starting to find his voice also. He babbles and talks and laughs all day. I love to hear him making his noises. I start school this Wednesday and I will miss hearing him make noise all day long. He is starting his first day of daycare on the 24th at the Child Development Center on the UA campus. I am so nervous for him! We went by a few days ago so he could meet his teacher and I could make sure I had everything in order for him to start. It is a wonderful place and I know he will be in good hands.

Blane had his 2 month doctor's appointment today which was no fun. :( Poor baby had to get 5 shots! And another immunization by mouth! Good grief that is a lot for a little guy. He cried so hard. Bo held his arms while the nurse gave him the shots. I was glad he was there because I almost cried myself and I know it would have been worse if I would have held his arms. :( He is doing great with his weight gain. He weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces and was in the 50th percentile which she said was perfect. He was 22 and 1/2 inches long and his head was 15 inches both were perfect and in the 50th percentile exactly where is supposed to be!

On the downside....she thinks she may have heard a faint heart murmur. She said that she believes it is nothing to worry about and that is it very common in children. However, she recommended we see a cardiologist in B'ham because he is under 6 months old. So it looks like we will be doing that next week. I really hope she is right that it is nothing. Of course I will worry until I hear it for sure from the cardiologist.

Blane is really started to laugh and smile now which is precious. I am enjoying him so much and I can't imagine having to leave him when school starts which is just a few weeks!
