Bo and I had planned on going to Lake Tuscaloosa for a few nights and were undecided about what to do when Blane got sick. Bo's Uncle Wade also had quadruple bypass surgery that Friday so the week was just a bust. Luckily Wade did great with his surgery and Blane seemed to be feeling some better Friday night so we decided to go. Blane spent the weekend with his Nana and Pa C. and spent Sunday with his Nana and Pop B. He was spoiled rotten I'm sure.
He is doing better with the Enfamil AR formula we switched him to. He's not spitting up near as much and his stomach issues have settled. I hate that stuff though. It will not dissolve you have shake it up forever. The other kind was much easier but if it benefits him I will do it. Blane is still doing great with daycare. His teacher commented today on how big he is getting and how he is laughing and smiling a lot now. That's my boy!! :)
Go Tigers!!!! Blane's Nana B. got him this cute Brilliant Tigers jersey to wear to the games. He wore it Friday night at the football game against Hub. Too bad they lost, but Blane was a trooper the whole time. It was hot and loud but he didn't fuss much at all and let some friends and family hold him. We were there to cheer Bo's cousin Austin on. Blane even has Austin's number on his jersey!
Look at that face! This picture just cracks me up. We were leaving to go to Blane's open house at his daycare last week when I snapped this picture. It came a MONSOON while we were out though so we ended up not getting to go. :( I talked to his teacher, Heather, and she said we didn't miss much. I think I am going to take an infant/children CPR class next week. I am terrified that I will need to know that one day and I won't know how. His daycare is offering it two afternoons on the 8th and 9th so I am going to sign up.
Haha...this is what we call Blane's Popeye look. I thought he looked so cute in this outfit, just like a little man! We switched his formula this week to Enfamil AR hoping that it would help with his spit up. Well it has some, but I think it is causing stomach issues with him. We're going to give it a few more days and see how he does but I am thinking about switching back. I hate to see my little man's belly hurting.
Blane goes for his first overnight trip this weekend without Mom and Dad! I am a little nervous about leaving him, but he will be with his Nana C. and Pa so I know he will be taken care of and spoiled rotten. I am going to miss him so much. On the bright side I have class through Wednesday and then a 5 day weekend! Wooohooo!!!
Good news! We went to the Pediatric Cardiologist on the 20th and he said that Blane's heart looked perfect! No defects of any kind. He did hear a faint murmur but he said it was nothing to worry about. What a relief! I hope we never have to go through anything like that again, it was so nervewracking! He did really good at the doctor and didn't fuss much at all even when hooked up to all these machines. What a good baby.
Blane is smiling and laughing all the time now. He has even started to recognize me and smile in the mornings when I get him out of his crib. It is so sweet. He LOVES to be talked to and will just study your face and smile and laugh the whole time. In the picture above Bo was talking and playing with him making him smile.
I started back to school on August 19, and Blane's first day of daycare was this Monday, the 24th. He is doing great! He went for a little while every day this week and he has been happy every time I picked him up which is a big relief. It is hard to focus in my classes though because I am thinking about him every minute. This is a picture of him and his teacher, Heather, above. She is really sweet with him and I know he is in good hands when I leave him.
Blane has been spitting up a lot here lately. His teacher even asked me if he has acid reflux. I told his doctor at his 2 month visit that he was spitting up a lot, but since his weight gain was good she wasn't concerned. I am going to bring it up again at his 4 month visit in October and see what she says. I know he is still gaining weight though because at his Ped. Cardiologist visit he weighed over 12 1/2 pounds. Oh the worries of a parent!
Now that I have started school I won't have much time to post, but I will try to update as often as I can. This semester is going to be very challenging. It will be a ton of work and being a mom on top of all of that is going to require most of my time. If I can make it to Christmas I will have it made! Student teaching then graduation after Christmas. Can't wait!

Here are a few of Blane's 2 month pictures we had taken at Portrait Innovations here in Tuscaloosa. I was happy with how they turned out! He is a very photogenic baby and I am not biased at all! We tried everything to get him to smile but he wouldn't! He fell asleep in the car on the way over and we woke him up getting his first outfit on. Luckily he never cried but he definitely wasn't in the smiling mood.
Blane had his 2 month doctor's appointment today which was no fun. :( Poor baby had to get 5 shots! And another immunization by mouth! Good grief that is a lot for a little guy. He cried so hard. Bo held his arms while the nurse gave him the shots. I was glad he was there because I almost cried myself and I know it would have been worse if I would have held his arms. :( He is doing great with his weight gain. He weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces and was in the 50th percentile which she said was perfect. He was 22 and 1/2 inches long and his head was 15 inches both were perfect and in the 50th percentile exactly where is supposed to be!
On the downside....she thinks she may have heard a faint heart murmur. She said that she believes it is nothing to worry about and that is it very common in children. However, she recommended we see a cardiologist in B'ham because he is under 6 months old. So it looks like we will be doing that next week. I really hope she is right that it is nothing. Of course I will worry until I hear it for sure from the cardiologist.
Blane is really started to laugh and smile now which is precious. I am enjoying him so much and I can't imagine having to leave him when school starts which is just a few weeks!
